Maybe...*If I Ever Get Past My Short Attention Span* Susan's Cuirass

Well, I am moving very s...l...o...w...l...y on my costume, but I have been thinking about how to make it multi-purpose. I noticed that Susan wore her skirt and under dress for the Night Raid, so I have been thinking about how to make her cuirass, or leather corset. We'll see, so don't hold me to it...

P.S. I hope to write a post about the purple skirt (above) mock-up soon!

Wow, a leather corset would be quite an undertaking! I'm anxious to see what progress you have on the purple skirt :)

Well, it's not going to be exactly leather...more like chicken wire (lol) and paper mache made from brown paper bags (I heard that that would make a leather effect). Painted brow, of course.

Lucie, are you a member of the Sense and Sensibility forum? If you aren't, I highly recommend it! It's all about sewing and stuff like that, and books and movies, etc.

Emmy- my purple dress is going very well...no, I'm not a member of that forum, sounds interesting, though. By the way, where did you go?

Joanna-Thanks for your comment...it's very encouraging. :)

Hi Lucie!

Thank you for commenting! WOW! That costume is quite an undertaking - but it is beautiful. I don't mean to be annoying, but is it ok if I ask where you got the pattern? Or did you come up with it yourself? Recently I have been making some costumes out of scraps. Nothing professional - they aren't even in the movie, but we use them for filming. I did make a REAL Elven cloak once, though! It was rather difficult...

Glad you liked the movie! We are definitely very amateur when it comes to film-making, but we had fun, and we are hoping to make more.

Please check the forum out, I would love it if you joined!
My blog...well...that's a long story...My dad weighed the risk against the gain and decided it wasn't worth it. :-) I kind of miss it, but I appreciate my daddy's wisdom.
Again, please join the S & S forum!!! :-) I think you'd love it. If you do join, you'll find me under the username gahentygirl. You would probably guess who it was anyway, though.
