Beret: Hat in French
Here are some pictures of the beret I just made...It's turned out to be very 1940's. I just started a 1940's style skirt with this lovely fall suiting solids plaid. It's very classic--and classy. But back to the beret. It was very fun to make, as well as providing a way for me to learn to use four needles...or five. By the way, the second picture is more representative of its color, though. You can't really see in the pictures, but its worn to one side, almost over the ear.

Oh, my Lu! This is awesome! Good job! You'll have to post some pictures of you wearing it with your skirt once it is finished! Your readers are on the edge of their seats waiting to see how it comes out!!!
Oh, and (I'm so excited!) I just finished my Narnia costume! I found your blog when I was looking for ideas at the begining of the Summer. The post came up about your Susan dress, and I was hooked after that! I'm posting pictures on the 14th and my blog will be public then if you would like to see them. I'm so excited!!!!
Again, good job on your beret! I know how to knit, but don't enjoy it very much...I like progress, and it seems to take FOREVER! I like the finished result though, so I still do it some times.

Oh, and I have a question (or two):
How did you create the blog buttons on the "Link to Me" page? (the ones with the HTML codes)
And are you using GIMP to create the headers, buttons, etc. on the "Image Gallery" and "Portfolio" pages?

@ Liza: Thanks...I did make them on Gimp! For the blog buttons, you have two choices: do it on photobucket (I'm not sure how) or go to http://designtipsbloggers.blogspot.com/2009/05/for-those-who-want-blog-button.html. She has a code and directions for it. I hope that helps!

Your beret turned out beautiful! I love the beret style but simply cannot wear it! I love hats, collect them, actually, and can't bear the thought of a hat I can't wear!!!

I stand in awe, my dear. I really never "clicked" with knitting; I can do it, but I don't enjoy it. It is sooooooooooooo darling, and I wish I could look good in hats like that. Very real-world-Susan-ish :).
